Our Beachfront Home here in the middle of Hanalei Bay can be yours!

Hanalei Moon Beach Cottage is named after the famous Hawaiian song "Hanalei Moon," which extols the extreme beauty and romance of the Hanalei Valley under the tropical night sky.

The cottage is located on the quiet end of town on Weke Road, right on the beach, on 1/3 acre within walking distance of all the restaurants, shops and galleries. Waterfalls are the back drop for our little beach house.

A complete cozy kitchen where you can whip up fabulous Food from the Hanalei Fish Market, the Farmer's Market, or just make snack to go and eat out every night in one of the great local restaurants.

Lime tree just outside your bedroom windows. King size bed and lights for reading at night. It has a seperate bathroom entrance. We have a little library for your use and quite a few great books on Kauai and Hawaii in general.

A twin size pune'e in the central room can accomadate another guest and there is a folding futon for the way youger set.

We have a little telescope in the living room so that you can better see boats, whales, and dolphins ply the Bay by day and enjoy the moon and stars at night. If you're lucky, you may see a moon bow, something I have only seen in Hanalei. It will happen on a night when there are stars, moon and clouds together. If the clouds are sailing by on the gentle trade winds and shedding some tears, the rain will be illuminated by the moon shining from the cloudless part of the sky. Talk about breathtaking! Depending on the brightness of the moon, you may discern the colors of the rainbow.

Snorkeling, swimming, diving, paddling, hiking, golfing and a health club are all as close as your front yard, to as far as a 10 minute drive away. Walk across your front yard and look to the left; you're likely to see no one for a mile. Look to the right and you'll probably see surfers, volley ball players and beach-goers, with the Hanalei Pier at the far end of the Bay in the background.

So that we may know that you agree to our policies & rental agreement, please sign & date below and promptly return a copy to us via email or fax, with your We look forward to your visit to our family's wonderful Hanalei home. After the $300 deposit to hold your reservation, half of the remaining balance is due within one month of the date the reservation was made. The remainder of the balance is due one month prior to your stay with us in Hanalei. Your due dates are listed above. If you find it easier, we will also gladly accept all your money at once! In any event, all fees are due one month prior to arrival. (If you are making a reservation more than a year in advance, we will notify you if we have a price increase for the year of your reservation at the time we make the change and we can make adjustment to your last payment.) If you do not pay your rent timely, we may at our option, cancel your reservation & return your money to you less a $100.00 handling fee.

The security deposit is to offset any damage, loss or additional cleaning needed and should be refunded to you within 45 days after you leave in good order. No smoking or pets allowed inside the house. There are simple house rules for you to abide by inside the home when you arrive. Only persons on the rental agreement may occupy the property.

Policies
House Rules
Among others, house rules include no pets, shoes or smoking inside or cigarette refuse in the yard, & being quiet after 10 PM. At check out: turn off lights, etc. & leave no dirty dishes or trash. Main rule; have a good time. See complete house rules. on our web site or in the house
Security Deposits
Security deposits are returned within 45 days when you check out in good order, usually around the 15th of each month following your departure. The checks are returned to the name and address on the rental contract.
Check Out & Late Check Outs
Check out is at 10 AM. We have folks coming & going on the same day so we need time to clean. If you really want to stay until the evening because you have a late flight out and you'd like to enjoy a last day at the beach, shower, eat and pack, we suggest you rent the house for an extra day since then you may leave whenever you want. The next guest cannot check in if you will be in it late. If you would like to stay late, but it is not critical to you, and you don't want to pay for an extra day, we will try to accommodate you. Let us know before you come and again a couple of days before you are due to check out and if no else one has booked the night of the date of your check out, and the housekeeper can accommodate the change, you may stay late. The cost for the day use is $50. plus tax.

Cancellation
There is a $100 fee for all cancelations. If you cancel with more than 60 days notice your monies less $100 will be returned to you. If you cancel with more than 30 days notice, but less than 60 days, all your monies (which at that point will be half the rent & taxes, plus deposit & cleaning) will be forfeited toward rent unless we can rebook your dates. If we re-book the same dates, your monies less $100 will be returned to you. If we re-book just part of the time, we will credit you whatever days we re-book. If you cancel with less than 30 days notice, & we have all monies owed, you will get back your security deposit and cleaning less $100 as long as we re-book the same dates, though you never know about re-booking with short time frame. We always try to re-book! Whatever part of your time we re-book, we will credit to you. Our goal is that the owners not lose rent after taking their property off the market while giving you every opportunity to recoup your loss if we are able to rebook the time. Additionally, you may purchase rental insurance at http://www.travelguard.com/ or http://guarantee.homeaway.com/ where you will need the VRBO listing # 117367 for Aunty Lydia’s Ohana to purchase the insurance.
Extra Guests
Some of the houses can accommodate extra guests. Extra guests are $15/ night or $90/week
Long Stays (over 2weeks)
If you will be staying longer than 2 weeks, you will possibly be required to have mid stay cleans. 15 nights will require one mid stay clean, 22 nights will require 2 mid stay cleans, 29 nights will require 3 mid stay cleans. You will be charged $25/hr. but an estimated fee somewhat less than the regular out clean will be collected at the time of paying the rent depending on the number of people in your party. Any overage collected based on the hours the house keeper puts in will be returned to you along with your security deposit. Shortages, you will be expected to pay at the time the service is rendered or your deposit will be docked.
