| The Ortlieb house is a gem. It has two master bedrooms with king size beds, two bathrooms but also a music room with a sleep out queen size sofa bed. It has a beautifully appointed living room and dining room and a small but adequate kitchen. It was built in the 1950s by the first inn keeper of the Wilburton Inn as his home on a hilltop location commanding spectacular views of the Equinox and the Green mountains. The Wilburton was Manchester's biggest estate and its mansion has been the castle of Manchester, Vermont. Less than a mile from the Equinox Hotel with best views of the Equinox Mountain.The estate is replete with interesting art, the exhibits of the Museum of the Creative process amassed by the current Innkeeper psychiatrist and educator Dr Albert Levis. On week ends join me for a guided tour of the sculptural trail through the history of love and of the family institution. |
